About Oriental Zen Reception Center
Oriental Zen is a reception center in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The interior occupies a two-story building, and minimal design techniques were used to resolve the irregular shape and structural limits of the original space. A structural column on the first floor is clad in black painted metal and forms the main visual feature. Vertical metal lines link the floors and create a bamboo forest effect. Oriental elements such as lattices, calligraphy and a lotus pond artwork are combined with lighting so that light and shadow are interwoven. Green landscape is brought indoors.
