About Smart Cleaner Outdoor Disinfectant Dispenser

Smart Cleaner is an outdoor disinfectant dispenser designed for public spaces. The free-standing unit is anchored in the ground and made entirely of stainless steel, which is durable and easy to clean. A photovoltaic panel powers all functions, and the energy is stored in an internal battery, so no mains connection is needed. Liquid is released when a sensor detects a hand. A mobile application allows municipal services to check the liquid level and the filling of the waste bin. The dispenser measures 1150 by 360 by 360 millimeters.

Jarosław Markowicz's Smart Cleaner Outdoor Disinfectant Dispenser exemplifies a significant moment in the evolution of public infrastructure design, wherein objects serving essential hygiene functions transcend mere utility to achieve genuine aesthetic distinction. Emerging from the tradition of functionalist street furniture that traces its lineage through twentieth-century industrial design movements, this work demonstrates how contemporary designers navigate the intersection of public health imperatives and urban beautification. The dispenser's formal vocabulary draws upon minimalist principles that privilege geometric clarity, material honesty, and surface refinement, yet the subtle asymmetry of its planar composition introduces visual dynamism that elevates the object beyond anonymous municipal equipment. The choice of brushed stainless steel speaks to both practical considerations of durability and maintenance and to deeper cultural associations linking metallic finishes with cleanliness, modernity, and technological advancement. One might observe how the dark crown and base elements create a visual grounding that prevents the silver body from appearing to float, while simultaneously referencing the tripartite classical column structure in abstracted contemporary form. The singular circular element positioned on the angled face suggests interface functionality while serving as a subtle compositional counterpoint to the prevailing rectilinear geometry. This work invites consideration of how objects designed for public health purposes might contribute positively to the visual character of shared spaces, transforming necessity into opportunity for environmental enhancement. What does it suggest about contemporary society when even sanitation equipment receives such thoughtful design attention?

Unique Properties
There are currently no public dispensers dedicated to the public space on the market. All available solutions for internal dispensers powered by batteries or from a socket. The solution proposed by Enovio is an autonomous solar powered dispenser. Its casing is durable and adapted to external conditions and anchoring in the ground.

Production Technology
The product is made entirely of stainless steel, which makes it durable and easy to clean. The PV panel supplies all dispenser functions. The dispenser can operate using only solar energy, which makes it an autonomous and ecological product.
Design Challenge
The design task was to create a simple product that will not dominate in its surroundings and at the same time have a high aesthetic value.
Project Duration
the project was developed in Warsaw.
Intensive work on the product began at the end of February. After several prototypes, after less than a month of work, we managed to develop the final product ready for sale.
Operation Flow
The Radial bin is fully autonomous. The functions do not require additional power supply because they are powered by a photovoltaic panel. The energy produced is stored in an internal battery.
Product management is done from the level of the mobile application. Municipal services can check the current state of the fluid or the filling of the basket. The method of refilling is very simple. The liquid is dispensed by squeezing once the sensor detects a hand.
Research
The most important thing during product development was creating an intelligent energy management system. We wanted a relatively small solar panel to be able to power several functions at the same time, so we had to develop a system that would be responsible for turning them on only when needed.
Inspiration
The main inspiration was the problem of hygiene in public space. Spending time away from home often we do not have the option of disinfecting hands properly. Caring for hygiene involves carrying your own disinfectants or using public toilets, which may be unsanitary. The design of the device should be simple, durable and at the same time noting that it is a new device that has not been previously identified. We decided to get inspired by tesla cybertruck, which responds to similar assumptions.
