About Spiderweb Key Visual
The main idea was to create something that brings all the attention to the product, using less elements as possible and creating some connection with the target public at the same time. The web element also refers to the grip of the shoe and his wild nature, bringing a personification to the product. The mood also transmits technology, present on the shoe essence and a pinch of a mystical language that comes with the spider web element that also represents the shoesole grip.
Mateus Morgan's Spiderweb Key Visual represents a distinguished achievement in contemporary 3D visualization, demonstrating the artist's command of photorealistic rendering techniques while engaging broader themes of biomimetic design philosophy and the dialogue between natural and manufactured forms. The work positions itself at the intersection of commercial product visualization and fine art digital practice, elevating what might conventionally serve as promotional imagery into a meditation on craftsmanship, structural integrity, and the aesthetic potential inherent in functional objects. Morgan's technical facility manifests in the meticulous attention to material differentiation, from the individually rendered fibers of the golden rope web to the subtle surface variations across leather, mesh, and rubber components of the footwear. The compositional strategy demonstrates sophisticated understanding of visual hierarchy, employing the radial web structure as both contextual environment and compositional armature, its geometric precision creating rhythmic counterpoint to the boot's organic curves. The chromatic choices reveal deliberate restraint, the warm golden tones of the web creating luminous contrast against the deep green-black atmospheric void while harmonizing with the ochre accent elements of the boot itself. This work participates in a tradition of product visualization that traces lineage to early twentieth-century commercial photography while embracing the expanded possibilities of digital creation. The suspended web structure, reminiscent of both spider engineering and nautical rope work, may evoke themes of interconnection, strength through networked structure, and the elegance of tension-based design systems found throughout nature. Viewers are invited to consider how this visual narrative transforms utilitarian footwear into an object of contemplation, suggesting that beauty and function need not exist in opposition but rather in dynamic synthesis.

The mood also transmits technology, present on the shoe essence and a pinch of a mystical language that comes with the spider web element that also represents the shoesole grip. Everything made in 3D without scans.

- Production Technology
- The boot was modeled using photographs as a reference and hard surface 3D modeling techniques. For modeling we used the software 3ds Max. All the textures made using leather texture and some photoshop brushes. Vray was used for rendering. Nothing on the scene was scanned or photoscaned.
- Design Challenge
- The hardest part was about the concept and thinking about something something never seen before on a so enormous market. Another complicated part was getting some real nice balance between something beautiful and real at same time.
- Project Duration
- I started doing the piece on setember 21 and it took about 1 month, ending on October 21.
- Operation Flow
- The key visual was used on online and offline media such product folder, box, and video. The main focus was to attract attention to the product, bringing in the composition elements that generate the necessary sensations without the need for explanatory texts. Competitors often use images without a strong visual appeal, so the product, especially in the online market, goes unnoticed. The excess of texts works negatively in most of these cases, underestimating the viewer's intellect.
- Research
- The work was executed based mainly on the previous experiences in other works for several companies of the sector footwear, in very natural way. Feedback was collected mainly online about the quality of the 3D itself as well as the sensations that people had in the first contact with the art.
- Inspiration
- The inspiration of the mood and elements comes from the nature, connecting the image directly with the customers life style. To show the grip of the shoe, the spiderweb, that is a wild element also was used.

Design Interview about Spiderweb Key Visual
Everything was inspired by wild elements and the nature. As well by the product features, creating sort of connection.
The focus was showing the product in a way that the image still simple but bring a lot the attention
Its spreading the word to the world
Was around 1 month.
I was trying to make somethng original that at the same time shows the features of the product. Like the grip and wild nature. It was a comissioned work.
The design is being used by the company in agreement with me.
I think that my background on the shoe market gave me all necessary to understand the client needs.
I this case was only me, and Caique, that did the retouch. But the whole idea was from my side.
Are the guys that make tracking and outdoor sports. And that clients that just love this life style as well.
I think that is the simple idea, i never seen something with this same idea before.
So at the first contact is a chock at the first view.
So at the first contact is a chock at the first view.
Nothing particular, just the first thing that came to my head.
Was 3ds Max, Vray and Photoshop.
The idea probably, by the use of the web element.
Was only me and Caique, that did the post production.
Just old school 3d polygon modelling, without any plugins or something like that.
No, was just my feeling and the aknowledge on how this market works.
The most complex part was modelling the shoe itself, is something complex to do, and a lot time consuming.
Was a easy choice, i won the competition last year and it was very good in terms of recognition.
At that moment was my most complex model to do, this helped me a lot in another projects that i did later.
All good! Everything was covered.
