Cloud is a loft style vacation apartment in Yilan, Taiwan. The design follows an idea of subtraction, integrating living functions into simple lines and primary colors that cover the supporting structure of the building. The full interior height is 380 cm and the total floor area is 40 square meters. Permeable materials and a suspended staircase made of thin steel panels and pine plywood extend the view and reduce the sense of oppression in the small space. Curved shapes guide the eye from each area toward the outdoor greenery.
