About Grundig Heinzelmann Limited Edition Consumer Electronics Film

Grundig Heinzelmann Limited Edition is a promotional animation film created for a radio inspired by a historic design. The Heinzelmann radio was introduced in 1946 as a wooden box radio built without tubes. The film reinterprets this heritage through a world of wood and brushed metal in harmony. All elements were modelled and animated in three-dimensional space using computer graphics. The film runs for sixty seconds in full high definition and ends in a room with a retro yet modern atmosphere.

Within the tradition of lifestyle cinematography that celebrates the intersection of heritage craftsmanship and contemporary domestic aesthetics, this frame from Digital Panorama's Consumer Electronics Film presents a carefully orchestrated interior composition that rewards extended contemplation, the work demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how objects acquire meaning through spatial context and chromatic relationship, positioning vintage-inspired audio technology not as mere product but as integral element within a curated living environment that speaks to values of quality, permanence, and considered design, the technical achievement lies in the balanced illumination that renders each surface with appropriate materiality while maintaining overall atmospheric coherence, from the cool veining of marble to the warm grain of figured walnut to the matte absorption of the tinted plaster wall, compositional intelligence manifests in the bilateral symmetry that centers the audio console as object of contemplation while flanking lamps create rhythmic structure and directional lighting that models the wall plane with subtle scalloped gradients, the chromatic scheme demonstrates particular accomplishment in its analogous harmony of rose, terracotta, and warm wood tones modulated by the cooler notes of gray textiles and greenery, thematic resonance emerges through the dialogue between organic and manufactured forms as botanical artwork and decorative branches echo in the geometric abstraction of the marquetry pattern, suggesting continuity between natural and crafted beauty, the work invites consideration of how domestic spaces serve as theaters for the objects we choose to live with and how thoughtful arrangement transforms functional items into meaningful presences within our daily environments.

Unique Properties
Grundig Intermedia roots lie in the traditional German company Grundig, which was founded in 1945 and achieved world fame with its radios and televisions. After the Second World War Germany was in ruins and so were most radios but new production was tightly controlled by the allies. Radio dealer Max Grundig saw an opportunity and built Heinzelmann, a Grundig radio without tubes that was not officially a radio. And this was the same legendary design that was brought to life today.

Production Technology
%100 CGI animation. All elements were modelled in 3d space and animated in Maxon’s Cinema 4D software. Compositing was made in Adobe After Effects.
Design Challenge
The main objective was to support Grundig’s motto, Embracing change is good if you remain true to yourself in a convincing plus entertaining way. The world of this product had to be mysterious and simple. The main elements of the animation were the wooden and brushed metallic materials that was used to build the classic design. They had to look real to convince the audience. Combining all these with a dramatic music in harmony, was the main challenge. The room we saw at the ending, had to reflect a feeling for a timeless, retro looking but modern life ambiance. We believe that we could achieve this.
Project Duration
Our first presentation of the idea to the client was in the first week of December 2020. Production started within a week. We finished and delivered the final film at the end of December 2020.
Operation Flow
This is a CG Animation video. Planned to be played on social media platforms such as Youtube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram and Grundig’s web site.
Research
Sales reports and benchmarks were examined to filter the most known designs of radios. We came across the fact that Grundig Heinzelmann is very well known product since 1946. Our client briefed us about the history of this product and we leveled this up. The animation was planned to be aired on social media such as Grundig’s Youtube channel and retail stores in all around Europe. The store visitors were subjected to a questionairre to measure the effectiveness of the film.
Inspiration
Grundig introduced its legendary Heinzelmann product in 1946. It was designed as a wooden box tubeless radio. This wooden design inspired us and we built the way over the wood idea. We dreamed a world of wood and metal in harmony without loosing the roots of Grundig brand.
