About Jiangcheng Art Sales Center
Jiangcheng Art is a sales center interior design in Chongqing, China, covering 7000 square meters. The design follows the layered topography of the mountain city, where rivers and slopes form a pattern that appears disordered yet remains ordered. Natural terraces inspired the grand staircase, which connects the levels of the space. Materials include mirror stainless steel, cement stone, aluminum alloy profiles, skeletonized stone and eco-foam. Light passes through the interior at changing intensities, creating rhythm and depth.
Weimo Feng's Jiangcheng Art Sales Center represents a remarkable achievement in contemporary spatial design, positioning itself at the intersection of parametric architecture, sculptural installation, and contemplative environmental experience. The work emerges from traditions of organic modernism that trace lineages through the biomorphic explorations of practitioners who sought to reconcile natural forms with architectural rationality, while simultaneously engaging with Eastern philosophical concepts of harmony between constructed and natural realms. The suspended sculptural element demonstrates exceptional formal sophistication, its topology suggesting biological growth patterns, cloud formations, or the frozen moment of liquid in motion, rendered in materials that achieve an almost impossible tension between apparent weight and visual levity. The chromatic decisions reveal careful calibration: warm bronze and amber tones concentrate in the sculptural volume, establishing it as the hierarchical apex of the spatial experience, while the surrounding architecture maintains disciplined restraint in cool neutrals that defer to this central gesture. The reflecting pool functions both practically and symbolically, doubling the visual impact of the installation while introducing associations with classical architecture's use of water as contemplative element and spatial amplifier. Technical accomplishment appears in the seamless integration of illumination within the sculptural form, where concealed light sources create the impression of inner luminosity rather than applied lighting, suggesting the sculpture possesses its own vital energy. The coffered ceiling grid provides essential geometric counterpoint, its rationalized diamond pattern preventing the organic forms from overwhelming spatial coherence while establishing the dialogue between control and freedom that animates the composition. Viewers might contemplate how this environment transforms the commercial function of a sales center into an experiential journey, inviting consideration of how architecture can elevate transactional spaces into realms of aesthetic contemplation and emotional resonance.

- Unique Properties
- The state of Chongqing is to grow slowly, this subtle "restraint" creates an oriental mood that carries a more trans-border, balanced, universal experience. Surrounded by the two rivers, the undulating topography creates a seemingly disorderly, actually orderly; seemingly messy, actually rhythmic style, the project continues the landscape urban pattern, landscape artistic conception, the concept into design elements.

- Design Challenge
- The overall space is based on the three-dimensional beauty of the mountain city as the main concept, and the unique characteristics of the region are used to search for humanities, ideas and even those spiritual attributes that are hidden or disappearing.
- Project Duration
- The project started in November 2018 in Chongqing and finished in September 2020 in Chongqing.
- Operation Flow
- The overall space takes the three-dimensional beauty of the mountain city as the main concept, and introduces the natural terraces into the design of the Grand Staircase to enrich the characteristics of the region. The presence of light makes the space be perceived, it travels through the space in different states, and its intensity changes create different rhythms, rhythms and levels in the space, creating a different artistic sensation.
- Research
- Through the concept of "micro-city", we extract the natural and urban elements, the natural growth design method, and integrate the natural and urban life fragments to extend different functional spaces, we divide the space into two main themes - nature and humanities - along the growth direction of the mother skin, shaping the space through natural terrain, and enhancing the feeling of space with cultural atmosphere.
- Inspiration
- The mountain is the city, the city is the mountain, the city is built in the mountain, the water is worn in the city. Chongqing has a more wrinkled, three-dimensional, and sunken sense than other cities, and its landscape has condensed its style and spirit. Surrounded by two rivers, the undulating terrain creates a seemingly disorderly, but actually orderly, seemingly chaotic, but actually rhythmic landscape.
