Yamadera is a hotel suite located in Jiaoxi, Taiwan, and named after a mountain temple in Yamagata, Japan. The suite covers 30 square meters and is divided by layered arch elements into three sections: foyer, resting area and bathing area. Monotone materials and low chromatic tones create a calm and enclosed atmosphere. Diatomaceous earth is mixed into the wall coating of the sleeping area to adjust the humidity around the hot spring tub. Water-resistant mineral paint is used in the bathing area. The compact layout responds to the limited floor space.
