Hope is a symbolic ring made of two parts joined by a hinge, so that the upper part can be opened like a small box. The outer surface is covered with black enamel and represents darkness. The inner surface is set with diamonds arranged in triangles, and a yellow diamond at the centre represents the sun and brighter days. A small square opening above the design allows the yellow diamond to be seen. The ring is made of silver with gold and measures 2.5 by 2.5 by 4 centimetres.
