Production Technology
The design started with ideation sketches for the outer shell and went on with research for the stations. Bend steel pipes are preferred for this design which is pieced together with a metal die-cast X module and Y module. For some stations that require handles, plastic injection molded parts are used. For easy assembly on the field and oven dying process in mind, the steel structure is designed with a modular system.
Design Challenge
The hardest part was the decision on outer designs and how the fitness stations and all the installations would fit together. In the end, the team achieved it by creating an X module. With this X module, we could give the desired effect and create an easy assembly when produced. When we think letter X as a form, we noticed that it has a habit of bringing together two sides and building a flow while gathering the movement.
Project Duration
The project started at the beginning of June 2022. The design was finished at the beginning of September 2022. In 2022 the production of molding and manufacturing fixtures will be ready. At the beginning of 2023, it is planned to start mass production.
Operation Flow
Risefit is designed to focus on cross-training and calisthenics. Suitable for high-intensity interval training (HIIT), core workout, and strengthening. In some stations, there are boxing, kettlebell, and rope climbing options, and other stations are only suitable for bodyweight training. Every workout model has a small explanation plate that has interface graphics that show how people can exercise with the product. It benefits from low and controlled vandalism.
Research
After a certain amount of research dedicated to indoor fitness, calisthenics, and outdoor fitness user habits and needs, the design team establish the essential equipment. This decision included interaction with a certain amount of people as well as some experienced fitness coaches. Our purpose is to meet the needs of people who are working out constantly and periodically while establishing the modernity of a gym environment with the product’s form and style.
Inspiration
The demand to train outdoors was the main inspiration. Adding to the demand, the team tried to play with some emotional concepts like feeling strong, able to keep going, and energetic, and, amenities to keep people working out more. Another motivation point was attracting people to come to the station regularly and making them feel like they are actually in a gym environment. Creating open-air workout sessions for individuals knowing that in the pandemic, they would tend to isolate themselves.

Design Interview about Risefit Outdoor Fitness

As in everything we do, we always try to give more than we can. We knew what our customer wanted as a function when they asked us for an outdoor exercise product family, but we didn't want to be humble about form and details. While the sketches of the project were being studied, I think I eliminated 9 different versions recommended by my team, I remember I wanted something different. Then version 10, a mix of previous versions, came in front of me and I said that's exactly what I was looking for.

Since the outdoor is a product, we also wanted it to be a modern object with depth.

I hope that it will be shipped all over the world after the ongoing mold production and mass production preparations are finished.

About 4 months I think.

This, like our other works, was custom made by our customer, but I think we went too far this time.

As with every order business, we have transferred production and sales rights

That we really want it :)

Of course, my team's place is always separate.

Anyone aged 14 and over who is bored with gyms or wants to do sports outdoors.

Definitely the form, I think. The forms of similar products are either very classic or at a level that cannot come alongside Rise-Fit.

Rise-Fit, as the name suggests, offers a state of fitness and fitness. We tried to reference the status skipping with a new form.

Brain and others to think

Fluid forms and joint points.

I had all I needed in my team.

Although we have used today's accessible technology in its design (tablet sketch, cad programs, prototyping with 3d print, etc.) there will be a wide framework for production. The use of robotic weldings in the welded joints of metal parts, the use of high-end CNC machines to make quality plastic injection and rotation molds, as well as the production of plastic, etc. should definitely be above average.

Yes, it happened. As a company, we are interested in the sociological side of the subject as we are interested in urban equipment and city individuals. For example, we knew before the distribution, age groups and social status of individuals who do sports outdoors and in the halls. During the pandemic, we witnessed some habits and needs change, which led to a rewriting of some rules. As a designer, it was not difficult to see people's new needs and problems and to develop new solutions to them.

I may have forced my team because I wanted some perfection in its design. Since there are too many components and varieties in its realization, I can say that it forced the cost and time of putting them together.

Since I have had this experience many times before, I think I can feel the award now. I felt this in this design and the process started.

I learned again that there is nothing wrong with looking for the best, by not accepting a project that is not easy.

I guess not, thank you so much

Grand Interview about Risefit Outdoor Fitness

At Budero, we aim not only to prioritize functionality in our designs but also to create an aesthetic experience. When designing Risefit Outdoor Fitness, our goal was to harmonize the natural essence of the outdoors with the discipline of indoor gyms. We achieved this integration by focusing on modern fitness habits, tailoring every detail to the user’s needs. Additionally, we ensured that our designs would feel less like a typical workout area and more like a lifestyle space. Balancing aesthetics and usability was key, and winning this award is a tremendous honor for us.

At Budero, we have a habit of creating iconic details in every project. We knew this particular point would stand out and become a defining feature. Structurally, it serves as a joint area, which could have been addressed in many ways. To maintain a sense of fluidity and strength in the product’s design, this point evolved into its current form. In fact, we’ve documented this progression in images and displayed it chronologically on Budero’s website.

We envisioned a future where the pandemic would eventually end, and societal life would return to normal. Additionally, we observed that during the pandemic (perhaps due to the closure of gyms), people realized the benefits and joy of exercising outdoors. We adapted old habits to align with the new regulations while keeping this perspective in mind.

When the client first briefed us, we started from scratch in terms of the design’s direction. However, I always had the idea that it needed to stand out from existing products. We needed something unique and fresh for outdoor use. From there, early sketches emerged, which weren’t far from the final design. These sketches were refined and evolved into what we have today.

Since these products are often installed in public spaces for general use, they needed to appeal to beginners as well as semi-professional athletes. We achieved this by differentiating levels of difficulty, accessibility, and experiences. Additionally, I had this belief: the product should be so visually appealing that it draws people in. I think we managed to achieve that to some extent.

The design of the stations was already informed by academic and professional insights. Later, we utilized our expertise in interface design to create instructions that a beginner could easily understand without confusing a professional athlete. Furthermore, the plaques only include mandatory regulatory information without additional text. This ensures universal understanding, regardless of the country or language. These interfaces and training options are also well-suited for integration with a mobile app - perhaps a feature we can activate in the future.

We have extensive experience and expertise in designing and manufacturing outdoor products. By combining the right materials with appropriate production techniques, we resolved these challenges effectively.

Absolutely, their input was invaluable. These discussions took place during the early stages of the design process. As a result, the product was designed based on this feedback, rather than retrofitting or adapting existing designs to meet their suggestions.

Great question. We found existing market offerings to be outdated and insufficient. Many products were purchased out of habit rather than deliberate choice. By observing the dynamics of knowledgeable customers and the new generation of fitness enthusiasts, we identified a need for change. Instead of using traditional, outdated exercises, we incorporated modern and trendy alternatives targeting the same muscle groups. This became a core principle of our approach.

As I mentioned earlier, even Risefit will eventually become outdated. The science of training continues to evolve, introducing exercises for muscles that were previously overlooked. This progression impacts everything from workout programs and equipment to athlete nutrition. Therefore, Risefit must stay updated, adapting to trends and advancements to remain relevant.
