About Nunn Bush 3D Product Animation

The project was made to show all the features of the product in a fun way by being informative but without being annoying. The purpose was to show the construction of the shoe. The inspiration came through the research about elements that could represent the product, like nature with all the colors and moods. The shoe was modeled using photographs as a reference and hard surface 3D modeling techniques. For modeling, designers used the software C4D. All the textures were made using leather texture and some photoshop brushes. Vray was used for rendering and Houdini for Simulations.

Mateus Morgan's 3D Product Animation exemplifies the contemporary convergence of traditional craftsmanship aesthetics with modern comfort engineering, employing the exploded view visualization technique that has become essential to communicating complex product construction to discerning consumers. This work positions itself within the broader tradition of technical illustration dating to Renaissance anatomical drawings and engineering diagrams, yet transforms documentary function into aesthetic experience through careful attention to compositional harmony and chromatic sophistication. The animation still demonstrates remarkable facility in rendering material differentiation: the warm, organic quality of vegetable-tanned leather convincingly contrasts with the synthetic precision of modern sole technology, creating a visual dialogue between heritage and innovation that defines contemporary footwear design. The unexpected introduction of cerulean blue within the otherwise warm earth-toned palette serves both functional communication, identifying the cushioning technology layer, and aesthetic punctuation, creating chromatic tension that energizes the composition. Technical accomplishment appears throughout the rendering: subtle leather grain variation suggests the natural irregularity prized in quality hides, while controlled specular reflection communicates the glossy finish of injection-molded polymer components. The floating arrangement, seemingly captured mid-assembly, transforms utilitarian product documentation into contemplative examination of engineering elegance, inviting viewers to appreciate the hidden complexity supporting everyday comfort. This work participates in the evolving tradition of product visualization that emerged from mid-century industrial photography yet embraces digital capabilities to achieve perspectives impossible in traditional photography. One might consider how this transparent revelation of construction reflects broader cultural values of authenticity and informed consumption, where understanding what lies beneath enhances rather than diminishes appreciation for the finished whole.

Production Technology
The shoe was modeled using photographs as a reference and hard surface 3D modeling techniques. For modeling we used the software C4D. All the textures made using leather texture and some photoshop brushes. Vray was used for rendering and Houdini for Simulations
Design Challenge
The hardest part was making the simulations, considering that there's a lot of elements that hard to be perfectly represented as the real world
Project Duration
2 months
Operation Flow
The animation visual was used on online such product website, instagram and facebook. The main focus was to attract attention to the product, bringing in the composition elements that generate the necessary sensations. Competitors often use images without a strong visual appeal, so the product, especially in the online market, goes unnoticed. The excess of texts works negatively in most of these cases, underestimating the viewer's intellect.
Research
The work was executed based mainly on the previous experiences in other works for several companies of the sector footwear, in very natural way. Feedback was collected mainly online about the quality of the 3D itself as well as the sensations that people had in the first contact with the art.
Inspiration
The inspiration came through the research about elements that could represent the product, like the nature with all the colors and mood.
