About Radiant Morning Glow Aesthetic Clinic
Radiant Morning Glow is an aesthetic clinic interior with rebirth and renewal as its theme. The 243 square meter space contains an open reception area, five treatment rooms, an office, a meeting room, a photo studio and a preparation room. An earthy palette of ivory, light brown and clay gray creates warm and textured interiors. Marble, ironwork, wallpaper and hollow brick are used. Strip lights hidden in the counter give a soft glow. A glass partition keeps the treatment room private while letting in natural light. The layout moves gradually from open to private areas.
Wei Chieh Hsu's Radiant Morning Glow Aesthetic Clinic exemplifies contemporary healthcare interior design's evolution toward environments that transcend purely functional clinical requirements to offer patients experiences of comfort, refinement, and psychological ease during moments of personal care and aesthetic consultation. The design demonstrates sophisticated spatial organization through its use of linear perspective as both practical circulation solution and compositional device, the elongated corridor functioning simultaneously as efficient distribution spine connecting multiple treatment rooms and as carefully choreographed sequence of visual experiences that unfold progressively as one moves through the space. The architectural vocabulary draws upon minimalist principles and Scandinavian-influenced materiality, evident in the pale wood tones, restrained color palette, and emphasis on natural grain textures that bring organic warmth to what might otherwise register as sterile clinical environment, while the integration of illuminated display niches introduces a gallery-like curatorial dimension that elevates the corridor beyond mere functional passage to become an exhibition space for carefully selected objects and natural elements. The lighting design reveals particular accomplishment, layering multiple illumination strategies including warm recessed niche lighting that creates inviting focal points, cool-neutral ambient ceiling illumination that ensures visual clarity for safe navigation and clinical activities, and natural or supplemented daylight filtered through sheer drapery that softens the consultation room atmosphere, this luminous complexity preventing monotony while maintaining overall tonal coherence. The material palette demonstrates discerning restraint, limiting chromatic range to permit subtle variations in texture, finish, and temperature to carry expressive weight, the contrast between warm wood and cool stone, between matte privacy panels and translucent glass, between smooth tile surfaces and textile window treatments creating tactile richness within apparent simplicity. The spatial sequence suggests careful consideration of patient psychology, the transparency of the glass-walled consultation room visible immediately upon entry communicating institutional openness and professional confidence, while the repetitive rhythm of closed treatment room doors along the corridor's length establishes privacy and discretion as fundamental values, the illuminated display niches offering moments of visual interest and contemplation that may ease anxiety during waiting or transition between treatment phases. The introduction of yellow florals within the warm-lit niches functions as both chromatic accent breaking potential monotony and as biophilic gesture connecting the clinical interior to natural living systems, this small but strategic intervention softening the space's technical character without compromising its professional authority. One might observe how this design negotiates the complex symbolic territory contemporary healthcare environments must traverse, projecting both medical competence through crisp geometry and immaculate finishes, and humanistic care through warm materials and thoughtful illumination, inviting consideration of how architectural language shapes patient comfort and confidence during vulnerable moments of aesthetic treatment and personal transformation.

- Design Challenge
- The glass partition beside the reception desk provides the treatment room with a high degree of privacy while allowing natural light to flood into the space. On the other side, hollow bricks, with embedded lighting casting subtle shadows can evoke a serene ambiance. The glass partition and hollow bricks complement each other, achieving a harmonious balance between privacy and openness. The design embodies a minimalist aesthetic that seamlessly blends functionality with elegance.
- Project Duration
- The project finished in August 2024 in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
- Operation Flow
- The reception area features soothing, subdued hues of ivory, light brown, and clay gray, creating a tranquil flow that calms emotions. Strip lights hidden in the counter emit a soft glow reminiscent of early morning light, gently softening sharp edges. Overhead, streamlined lighting fixtures bring a sense of movement to the otherwise static scene. Through the changes in lighting and colors, the space achieves clear layers while maintaining a soft, gentle atmosphere. Clients can be enveloped in an atmosphere that eases tension and fosters inner peace with every step they take.
- Research
- Situated at the intersection of the corridors, the meeting room features large floor-to-ceiling glass panels, inviting natural light to fill the space. This design alleviates the visual pressure of the elongated layout, creating a bright and airy transition zone that seamlessly connects the treatment room with the staff lounge. Symmetrically designed display cabinets enhance visual balance. The curved interiors are illuminated, with light flowing along the arc, creating a subtle, delicate trail of serene movement.
- Inspiration
- The design is inspired by the renewal of nature, with a mellow earthy palette that fosters a sense of inclusion. Indirect lighting and delicate contrasts between light and shadow guide the visual flow while adding depth to the environment, gently releasing a sense of calm that keeps clients away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The layout embodies a "gradual progression," transitioning seamlessly from the open reception area to the private treatment room. This thoughtful narrowing of space reflects the process of calming the mind.
