About Rams Beyond Etro Sales Office
Rams Beyond Etro is a sales office and showroom in Istanbul. The interior covers 1650 square meters and is arranged as a gallery. White surfaces frame curated artworks and a model of the residential project. Curved walls are formed from gypsum board, and the ceiling is finished with custom metal panels that reflect light. White natural stone flooring makes the flowing forms and shadows more visible. A spider glass facade connects the interior with the city. A clear path leads visitors from the reception to the main display zones.
Arkiteam Architecture's Sales Office engages contemporary spatial design discourse through a sophisticated architectural language that balances sculptural expression with commercial functionality, creating an environment where form, material, and light converge to produce an experience of sustained visual and spatial interest. The design demonstrates command of parametric modeling capabilities translated into built form, where the perforated metallic ceiling canopy, transitioning chromatically from warm metallic tones through neutral grays to cool silvered whites, suggests computational design processes governing aperture distribution, density variation, and chromatic gradation, this overhead element functioning simultaneously as environmental mediator, acoustic management system, and sculptural focal point, its irregular perforations recalling organic patterns found in cellular structures, geological formations, or botanical growth while maintaining geometric rigor in aggregate distribution. The arrangement of cylindrical white volumes establishes a spatial choreography that invites movement and discovery, their varying diameters and strategic positioning creating implied zones, sight corridors, and threshold moments that guide circulation while maintaining visual permeability throughout the space, each cylinder finished in pristine matte white that captures and reflects ambient lighting with subtle tonal gradation, revealing form through light rather than applied decoration or chromatic variety, this material restraint focusing attention on proportion, rhythm, and spatial relationship. The integration of illumination within the cylindrical elements themselves, visible as warm linear glows suggesting interior lighting systems, adds layered complexity to the luminous environment while reinforcing the forms' volumetric presence and suggesting hollowness that invites speculation about interior function and structural logic. The dark horizontal bands defining cylinder bases provide essential visual grounding, their continuous black or deep charcoal lines creating crisp separation between vertical white volumes and horizontal gray floor plane, this simple detail achieving significant compositional effect by emphasizing the cylinders' upward thrust while maintaining clear material boundaries. The floor's polished gray surface, whether concrete, resin, or composite material, contributes spatial continuity and subtle reflectivity that enhances luminosity without competing with the white volumes' commanding presence, its neutral tone mediating between the brilliant whites above and providing restful visual ground that supports rather than dominates the spatial experience. This work invites consideration of how contemporary commercial environments can transcend purely functional requirements to achieve spaces that engage visitors emotionally and intellectually through formal sophistication, material quality, and experiential richness, raising questions about the relationship between architectural expression and commercial purpose, the role of digital design tools in shaping built environments, and the continuing relevance of modernist spatial ideals in contemporary practice.

- Design Challenge
- The hardest part of this design activity was balancing two contrasting concepts an art gallery and a functional sales office. We had to present the project model as an art piece while ensuring privacy in the presentation rooms. Achieving this within an open, flowing space with curved elements posed a unique challenge.
- Project Duration
- Located in Istanbul, the project commenced in April 2024 and was completed in June 2024.
- Operation Flow
- The showroom layout ensures seamless flow, guiding visitors through an immersive journey. A clear circulation path leads from the reception to key experience zones, highlighting the building model and curated art pieces.
