Jojo is an artificial intelligence companion toy for children. The soft body is made from recycled plush materials. A voice system supports conversations in several languages. A memory function allows Jojo to develop a distinct personality over time. A small display shows emotional states through animated eyes. A silicone layer around the electronic parts keeps the toy soft to hold, and openings in the layer let the microphone and speaker work clearly. Jojo measures 10.5 by 9.5 by 10.5 centimeters and weighs 159 grams and can be carried as a wearable accessory.

This trio of spherical companions appears to draw upon established kawaii design traditions while introducing sophisticated LED eye displays capable of expressing varied emotional states, suggesting a design philosophy that positions technology not as cold or distant but as warm, approachable, and emotionally resonant. The chromatic differentiation across the three units, spanning from absorptive black through delicate pink to luminous white, demonstrates thoughtful consideration of diverse aesthetic preferences while maintaining cohesive formal vocabulary through shared morphological elements including the signature spherical red noses and paired foot appendages. The material selection of dense plush textile creates immediate haptic invitation, promising the comfort of traditional stuffed companions, while the illuminated eyes introduce an element of technological wonder and interactive possibility that transcends static toy conventions. Production Technology: Powered by the Joyinside AI Intelligent Engine, it serves as an intelligent children’s toy integratingstory companionship, interactive learning and emotional competency enlightenment, made fromrecycled plush toy materials.
Design Challenge: For AI companion plush toys, balancing soft touch and electronic hardware integration is key. Electronic modules (microphones, speakers, main control movements) take up internal space; improper structure can make the interior hard, affecting hugging comfort, while overly thick filling may block modules and hinder voice interaction.
A soft silicone interlayer is added to the movement structure as a buffer, reducing hardware-induced hard touch and enhancing hugging experience. Acoustic openings in the silicone layer ensure normal audio reception and emission of microphones and speakers.
Additionally, a long-pile plush outer layer, similar to a professional microphone dead cat, disperses air flow, reduces noise and interference, stabilizes voice reception, and improves interaction experience.
Project Duration: Started in Beijing and Shanghai in China 2026
Operation Flow: Pair via APP Bluetooth, enter the WiFi/personal hotspot to connect to the Internet. After connection, wake it up by voice saying Hello JOJO, then you can have a dialogue.
Research: Studies have shown that comfort objects can effectively help children transition from dependence on their mothers to independence, alleviate separation anxiety and provide psychological security. More than 60% of children form emotional attachments to transitional objects such as plush toys, which can ease separation anxiety and offer emotional security. With the development of AI, emotionally interactive companion robots can be new emotional partners for children. Via natural language interaction, emotional feedback and long-term memory, they provide continuous emotional support and interaction, enabling JOJO to redefine children’s companionship in the digital age.
Inspiration: This project integrates the brand’s iconic red-dot logo concept with the story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. It draws inspiration from the metaphor of emotional guidance within the story—small yet steadfast, gentle yet powerful, capable of offering comfort and reassurance in moments of loneliness. The design transforms AI from a purely functional tool into an emotionally perceptible presence.
