About X Series Swim Jet
X Series is a cordless swim jet designed to create a continuous water current in home swimming pools. The system allows swimming in place without permanent installation or poolside wiring. Power and propulsion are separated. The main unit is placed in the water, while a wheeled lithium battery case supplies energy from the side. Flow speed reaches 3.5 meters per second, and runtime reaches 10 hours. A triangular nozzle shapes a stable linear current, so the unit suits pools as small as 8.2 by 8.2 feet. Speed is adjusted through a smartphone application.
iGarden's X Series Swim Jet represents a thoughtful synthesis of industrial design excellence and aquatic fitness innovation, positioning itself within contemporary movements that prioritize both functional performance and aesthetic refinement in recreational and wellness equipment, the design demonstrates clear engagement with principles of minimalist modernism, where reduction to essential forms and restrained material palettes serve to emphasize inherent qualities of shape, proportion, and surface rather than decorative embellishment, this approach finds historical precedent in mid-century Scandinavian design philosophy and the Bauhaus integration of beauty and utility, yet the organic, biomorphic character of the primary housing suggests influence from more recent digital-age industrial design that employs computational modeling to generate forms optimized simultaneously for human interaction, manufacturing efficiency, and visual appeal, the sculptural ovoid body achieves remarkable presence through subtle complexity within apparent simplicity, as gentle compound curves create continuous surface transitions that catch and reflect light in ever-changing ways depending on viewing angle, this sensitivity to how form interacts with illumination reveals sophisticated understanding of phenomenological design, where the experience of an object changes through movement and time rather than presenting a single fixed appearance, the choice of pristine white as the dominant color communicates multiple overlapping meanings within product design semiotics, suggesting cleanliness and hygiene particularly appropriate for aquatic applications, technological advancement and contemporary innovation, premium quality and refined taste, and visual neutrality that allows the object to integrate harmoniously into diverse residential environments without asserting strong chromatic personality, the dark linear grille element provides essential visual contrast while also honestly expressing functional necessity, as the horizontal slats clearly indicate water intake or propulsion mechanisms, this design decision exemplifies material honesty and functional expression, principles valued in industrial design traditions from the Deutscher Werkbund through contemporary sustainable design movements, the compact control module positioned alongside the main unit demonstrates thoughtful system thinking, where multiple components are designed with visual and conceptual coherence to function as an integrated whole rather than disconnected parts, the circular digital interface employs clear information hierarchy and intuitive graphic design, suggesting user-centered design processes that prioritize operational clarity and ease of interaction, technical execution throughout reveals meticulous attention to detail resolution, from the precise radii of curved transitions to the consistent surface finish quality to the careful alignment of geometric elements, these qualities suggest manufacturing precision and quality control standards associated with premium consumer products, the compositional presentation itself, with both units photographed against a pure white void in perfect studio lighting conditions, participates in contemporary product photography conventions that isolate objects from contextual distraction to focus viewer attention entirely on form, finish, and design character, this approach transforms functional equipment into sculptural objects worthy of sustained aesthetic contemplation, the work invites viewers to consider how everyday objects that serve practical purposes can simultaneously offer visual satisfaction and contribute to the aesthetic quality of lived environments, one might observe how the design negotiates the tension between expressing technological capability through sleek, futuristic form language and maintaining approachable warmth through organic curves and human-scaled proportions, perhaps the viewer might contemplate the relationship between form and function in their own surroundings, considering which objects successfully integrate beauty and utility, and which might benefit from the kind of holistic design thinking evident in this aquatic fitness system.

- Unique Properties
- iGarden Swim Jet X Series is a portable swim machine that creates a powerful current in home pools, allowing continuous swimming in place. Unlike traditional swim jets that need costly installation and hazardous poolside wiring, it is fully cordless, powered by a wheeled suitcase-style lithium battery. Users simply roll it out, place the unit in the pool, and control speed via smartphone app. It delivers up to 3.5 m/s flow, 10 hours runtime, and works in pools as small as 8.2 × 8.2 ft.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- Main Unit: 14.3 in x 11.0 in x 36.3 in Battery Pack: 11.8 in x 9.3 in x 7.1 in

- Production Technology
- The system physically separates power from propulsion to eliminate wiring. The main unit utilizes a Stainless Steel Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor enclosed in an IP68-rated, marine-grade impact-resistant polymer housing. The power source is a portable IP65-rated high-energy-density Lithium-ion battery. A unique triangular nozzle was engineered using advanced fluid dynamics to boost wave efficiency, creating a stable linear flow path that allows swimming just 11.8 inches from the outlet.
- Design Challenge
- The primary creative challenge was delivering a massive 1000W output entirely through a portable battery without hardwired connections. Strict safety regulations near water required an innovative physical decoupling of the power source. Engineering the fluid dynamics to ensure the water current remained stable for professional athletes in compact pools required extensive iterative prototyping. The system also needed to be extremely safe and gentle enough for children during family recreation.
- Project Duration
- The project started in January 2024 in Shenzhen, China, and the final production model was completed in December 2025. The product will be officially exhibited at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, United States, in January 2026. Pre-sales will commence across North America and Europe from mid-March to May 2026, with official global retail availability starting at the end of May 2026.
- Operation Flow
- Interaction is redefined as a state of effortlessness. By eliminating cables and permanent setup, the system can be freely positioned by a single user, turning what was once a technical procedure into a simple, fluid gesture.
The experience is guided by immediacy rather than instruction—placing the unit into water, subtly adjusting the flow, and initiating movement through a minimal interface. Control is reduced to a single point of interaction, whether physical or digital, removing layers of complexity traditionally associated with such systems.
In line with the philosophy of Artful Living Technology, the design allows technology to recede. It does not ask to be managed; instead, it quietly sustains the environment, enabling users to remain immersed in the experience rather than the mechanism behind it. - Research
- We conducted user research globally to understand aquatic fitness barriers. Participants included fifty households with children and professional athletes. Testing revealed families needed gentle currents for kids. Professional swimmers required a powerful 3.5 meters per second flow for rigorous training. This insight drove our adjustable cordless design. By fitting compact pools from 8.2 by 8.2 feet upward, it makes professional health and family fun highly accessible to absolutely anyone.
- Inspiration
- Inspired by a quiet contradiction, the project addresses the desire for continuous swimming in private pools that are often too small for it. Rather than relying on fixed infrastructure, exposed wiring, and technical complexity, it separates power from propulsion to create a mobile, autonomous system. Guided by Artful Living Technology, the design reduces intervention and restores spatial clarity, making technology a quiet enabler of fluid, intuitive living.
