The nano airy curling iron uses an innovative negative ion technology. Keeps smooth texture, softy shiny curl for a long time.The curling pipe has undergone a nano-ceramic coating, feels very smooth. It curls the hair tenderly and quickly with the warm air of the negative ions. Compared with curling irons without air, you can finish in a softer hair quality.The basic color of the product is soft, warm and pure matte white, and the accent color is pink gold.

Interview with TAKAKO YOSHIKAWA on Nano Airy Curling Iron

What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?
As a woman this product is a weapon to be beautiful. I wanted to design a great weapon for women.
What are your future plans for this award winning design?
It is currently a limited sale, but will be released nationwide in Japan from now on. Then it will be expanded overseas.
How long did it take you to design this particular concept?
It took three months to complete the image and plan and another three months to complete the design.
Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?
I started the branding project for two companies of our client. I also was in charge of designing this product to be released in that.
What sets this design apart from other similar or resembling concepts?
I designed the point as a functional like the collar of a Japanese sword.
How did you come up with the name for this design? What does it mean?
I named it "nano airy" from the product feature that warm air of nano ion comes out.
What are some of the challenges you faced during the design/realization of your concept?
I reworked the exterior design many times because needed to change and expand the internal structure.
What did you learn or how did you improve yourself during the designing of this work?
I used many hair irons for more than 5 years, I learned a lots from there.
