About BRC Star Amber Sales Center
BRC Star Amber is a sales center located in Fuzhou, China. The interior covers 500 square meters on two floors and is centered on a sandbox area. Arched openings, curved lines and tones of gold and beige recall the Art Deco style, while Klein blue and Bordeaux red add contrast. Art installations, natural materials and light strips shape an open atmosphere. A negotiation area, a contract signing room, a VIP room and a water bar are set outside the doorway. A virtual reality room on the second floor allows visitors to preview future living spaces.
Rui Ning's BRC Star Amber Sales Center exemplifies a distinguished approach to commercial interior architecture that elevates the conventional sales environment into a space of contemplative grandeur and material refinement. The design demonstrates sophisticated engagement with historical architectural precedents, most notably the barrel-vaulted nave spaces of classical and ecclesiastical traditions, reinterpreted through contemporary materiality and restrained modernist sensibility. The repeated arched volumes establish a processional rhythm that guides visitors through the space with ceremonial deliberation, while the striated stone cladding introduces organic warmth and tactile interest that softens the geometric precision of the architectural forms. The central presentation platform, elegantly framed in bronze and crowned by an architectural model of considerable intricacy, functions as both practical display and sculptural focal point, inviting close examination while maintaining compositional command of the expansive interior. The suspended chandelier represents a notable design achievement, its delicate branching forms suggesting natural phenomena such as coral, winter branches, or lightning captured in suspension, contributing ethereal lightness that counterbalances the monumental stone surfaces. The chromatic restraint evident throughout demonstrates a mature understanding of how limited palette enhances spatial coherence and material appreciation, with the warm bronze and gold metalwork providing sufficient chromatic interest without disrupting the serene neutrality. Natural light integration through the glazed facade establishes dialogue between interior refinement and exterior landscape, suggesting environmental awareness within the luxury program. The work invites consideration of how commercial architecture might transcend purely transactional function to create spaces that honor both the significance of architectural decision-making and the human desire for beauty in everyday environments.
Press Kit
- Unique Properties
- Containing the modern temperament of fashion and art extends the thinking of residence, art and life. The designer hopes that the space is pure and free which presents distinctive personality, lines, and colors, without the heavy sense of history, and not bound by the environment of any era.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- This project is 500 square meters. The two storey building is interspersed with smooth curves. The space is centered on the sandbox area. Above the sandbox are finely woven lighting decorations and the vertically arranged ceiling light strips. Surrounded by lofty arched door openings on all sides, it is "softened" in the color tone of the earth. The blank wall decorated with a penetrating metal shape and Klein blue balls set up a little "fun" to eliminate the alienation of the space.

- Production Technology
- The emergence of arch design elements is very representative and ingeniously intersperses throughout the space. The classic ARTDECO style combination of gold and beige is collided with the impactful colors of Klein blue and Bordeaux red, bringing a dynamic atmosphere. Use art installations and color collisions to create a highly recognizable space, use condensed lines to outline, discard unnecessary decoration, use natural materials and light bands to cleverly break through the latitude of space, and create a new concept experiential sales center.
- Design Challenge
- The soft arcs at the stairs relieve the horizontal rigidity and hang Klein blue boats and balls. The combination of the ball hanging device and the ship's elements reflects the sense of extension. The application and evolution of the "circle" elements in varous spaces and areas is also a challenge.
- Project Duration
- The project finished in October 2019 in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China.
- Operation Flow
- A VR experience room is set up on the second floor, and VR virtual technology is installed to provide users with virtual senses about vision, hearing, touch and other senses, so that users can feel every detail of the space more directly as if they are physically present, having the intuitive experience of the living space in the future.
- Research
- The doorway is used as the boundary partition area. Outside the doorway, a negotiation area, a contract signing room, a VIP negotiation room and a water bar area are set. The negotiation area introduces natural light with large-scale transparent floor-to-ceiling windows, and water ripple-like ceilings, such as "ink" and "water", which are carefully forged at the metal interface, create unique effects.
- Inspiration
- Star Amber is located in Fuzhou, one of the oldest cities in China to accept Western culture. In recent times, benefiting from maritime trade, Fuzhou has ushered in a new cultural and economic prosperity. The designer hopes to integrate the western modern architecture classic ARTDECO style and traditional marine culture, and project it into the overall design, showing a new and unique space atmosphere.
