About Chosen One Landscape

Chosen One is a landscape design for a residential project in Wuxiang New District in Nanning. The site covers 9896 square meters. The entrance is framed by a dewdrop sculpture that links the inner and outer areas, and lighting marks the entrance at night. A light and shadow corridor forms a clear walking path, where continuous apertures create an immersive space. Black and white marble walls extend horizontally to add a sense of quality. A sunken seating area is enclosed by wooden platforms and plants for quiet meeting and meditation.

Within the discourse of contemporary landscape architecture, Logan Group's Chosen One Landscape emerges as a sophisticated meditation on the dialogue between constructed environments and natural phenomena, embodying principles that trace lineage through the contemplative garden traditions of Eastern philosophy while engaging with the material vocabulary of international modernism. The design demonstrates remarkable sensitivity to the phenomenological experience of space, orchestrating a sequence of perceptual revelations through the careful calibration of transparency, reflection, and framing. The vertical rod installation functions as both physical boundary and atmospheric membrane, filtering light and view while creating a visual rhythm that suggests natural phenomena such as falling rain or bamboo groves translated into architectural abstraction. The highly polished stainless steel spheres serve multiple spatial and conceptual functions, their convex surfaces capturing panoramic reflections that compress the entire surrounding environment into concentrated orbs of visual information, while their perfect geometric forms provide counterpoint to the organic irregularity of the planted trees and the geological variations in the stone cladding. The reflecting pool operates as the primary unifying element, its still surface doubling every vertical element and creating a sense of infinite depth beneath what is actually a shallow plane of water. The compositional strategy of framing the exterior garden through the dramatic angular aperture creates a picture-window effect that elevates the curated landscape to the status of living artwork, encouraging prolonged contemplation of the interplay between sculpture, vegetation, architecture, and sky. The material palette demonstrates sophisticated restraint, with the warm grey stone, cool white rods, and neutral metallic surfaces allowing the changing conditions of light and season to provide chromatic variation. Visitors might consider how this environment mediates between the dynamism of the urban context visible in the distant towers and the stillness cultivated within the immediate garden space.

Unique Properties
The project is located in the central of Wuxiang New District in Nanning. Wuxiang New District is a comprehensive area in urban planning as a model of ecological city combining with nature. The entrance is a frame of the "dew-drop sculpture", which ingeniously connects the inside and outside from the very beginning, expressing the artistic perception of "no-boundary". The rippling light burns up at night to enhance the landmark entrance.
Dimensions & Packaging
The project covers a total of 9896 square meters.

Production Technology
The black and white marble wall extends horizontally to strengthen the sense of quality and visibility, creating a noble and luxurious atmosphere.
Design Challenge
The light and shadow corridor forms a straight and clear walking path, and the continuous aperture creates a three-dimensional immersive space, creating a dynamic and flowing visual experience for all pedestrians who walk by. The design on the corridor wall is consciously inclined, meanwhile retains a part of the transparent space to allow the external light and shadow gradually leak into the interior.
Project Duration
The project started in April 2019 in Nanning and finished in July 2020 in Nanning.
Operation Flow
In the transparent showcase at the end of the corridor, vortex-shaped installations are exhibited as a gift captured from the nature, bringing the art and life closer.
Research
The final space is a outdoor chatting space. The sunken-seat is enclosed by high and low wooden platforms and green plants to create a quiet and independent space for meeting, communication, meditation and other activities. The zen-landscape rocks and outdoor bonfire perfectly matched, elegant and warm, traveling through time and space, where becomes the home of travelers' faith and soul at this moment.
Inspiration
The idea of "Dew in Wuxiang Lake" is introduced as the inspiration in the design, demonstrating different states of dewdrops in the morning, afternoon and evening with the light and shadow. With the light and shadow, flow and inclusiveness of dew, the design deduces the ingenious echoing relationship between dewdrops and the space.
