About Ivau Apparel and Baby Wrap Collection
Ivau is an apparel and baby wrap collection for mothers. The collection includes a matching loungewear set, a dress, a baby romper and wraps. The garments are made from custom-milled bamboo fabric that is soft, breathable, antibacterial and hypoallergenic. The dress has an ultra-low back cut for comfort when layered under a wrap. The dress and the loungewear top allow nursing without removing the wrap. Hand-painted bespoke prints are inspired by the nature of Fiji. The pieces are intended to be worn through the stages of motherhood.

Our fashionable babywearing collection include matching loungewear set, dress, baby romper and wraps. From easy nursing to comfort of layering, every detail is considered to create fashionable garments that are practical, effortlessly chic and making babywearing convenient, comfortable and stylish.
- Dimensions & Packaging
- Loungewear collection has sizes from S, M, L, to XL. Dress has two sizes S/M and L/XL. Baby rompers range from 0-24 month while baby wrap is one size.

- Production Technology
- Custom-milled sustainable bamboo fabric is chosen for the collection as it is luxuriously soft and easily wrinkle free, effortless to take care of for a busy mother. Our fabric is OEKO-TEX Made in Green and Standard 100 certified to the world's strictest chemical safety and sustainable production standard for textiles. Naturally anti-bacterial, breathable and hypoallergenic, the garments are suitable all season.
- Design Challenge
- The hardest part is to create timeless pieces that can be worn beautifully through stages of womanhood. We want the silhouette to be easy to wear but head turning at the same time.

- The project took one year from Sep 2021 to Sep 2022 to finish
- Operation Flow
- Fashionable Babywearing collection enables women to establish the essential bond with their newborns in style and comfort. The apparel collection can be worn through stages of womanhood. As maternity clothing, they are nursing and pregnancy friendly. They are especially comfortable to layer under a wrap when carrying an infant as the apparel design takes into consideration the comfort of baby wearing. The garments use the same all season, lightweight fabric as the wrap that is breathable and anti-bacterial. The dress has an ultra-low back cut so the user does not feel too hot when layered during wearing. Both the dress and loungewear top can facilitate nursing without taking off the wrap.
- Research
- Creation of this collection took years of babywearing experience to know what garment works with baby wrap and what does not. For example, we would not make a jumpsuit because it is just not practical when babywearing. Our dress for example has ultra low back cut for the comfort of layering with a wrap. All of our garments are nursing friendly while babywearing.
- Inspiration
- If a woman gives birth to three children, that is 10 years in her life when carrying an infant and nursing take centre stage. The fourth trimester should be one of the most beautiful moments in motherhood but it is currently overlooked. Yet, newborn bonding is vital in every family relationship. There is no apparel collection that is tailored to address the need of style-conscious mothers to carry a child fashionably after birth. So we pioneer fashionable babywearing with matching apparel and carriers to rediscover the most beautiful moment in motherhood, bonding with your newborn.

Design Interview about Ivau Apparel and Baby Wrap Collection
Inspired by the spellbinding beauty of nature in Fiji, moonrise on black beach shares my memory of our families' favourite sunset experience on the sand dunes of Sigatoka. The romantic colours of sky merge into the wild ocean. Endless sand dunes stretch along the roaring Atlantic coast. It's our children's favourite playground as they run down the dunes towards the beach. Here, in nature, we feel deepest happiness and bond deeply as a family.
I want to share this beautiful experience with my audience and help them nurture their close connections with loved ones and mother nature.
I would love to have as many parents use our products as possible as our baby wrap truly creates the most beautiful bonding experience from day one.
It took me 6 months.
Life inspired me so much to launch IVAU, a brand dedicated to celebrate beautiful of nature and nurture our close connections.
My designs are exclusive for IVAU.
I used baby wrap to carry my two children and I truly believe this amazing baby carrier need a makeover.
Our target customers are families expecting newborn.
Our hand-painted prints with a story to tell is completely unique from normal plain coloured baby wraps.
Moonrise on Black Beach is exactly the most mesmerizing view I remember.
