About See The Unseen Immersive Ephemeral Art Exhibition
As the Lunar New Year approaches while most embrace a visible dragon design, the team aim to create a memorable dragon experience that elevates visitors' imagination and memory of the hidden dragon. By partnering with Penique Productions for Taikoo Hui Mall’s CNY, it integrated artistic techniques and mediums to make the dragon elusive with red recyclable film to craft a glass box, this reimagined space offers a sense of elusive presence that enhances the visitor's immersion into the concept of the dragon, aiming to bring new year blessings them in the newly redefined space of the mall.
See The Unseen Immersive Ephemeral Art Exhibition by INCEPTION Cultural & Creative Co., Ltd exemplifies contemporary installation practice's capacity to transform architectural space into phenomenological experience through the strategic deployment of material, light, and chromatic saturation. The work demonstrates sophisticated understanding of how textile membrane systems can mediate between exterior illumination and interior atmosphere, creating environments that envelop visitors in sensory experience. The monochromatic red palette, ranging from deep shadow tones through brilliant transmitted luminosity, establishes a chromatic totality that may evoke associations with organic interior spaces, suggesting perhaps the warmth of bodily enclosure or the protective membrane of shelter. The sculptural fabric masses occupying the floor plane appear as geological formations or organic growths, their complex folded surfaces creating micro-landscapes of shadow and highlight that reward sustained contemplation. Technical achievement is evident in the engineering of the overhead membrane system, where taut fabric panels stretch between structural supports to create a luminous ceiling that filters and transforms natural light into the characteristic warm glow permeating the space. The installation suggests dialogue with traditions of environmental art and the legacy of artists who have explored fabric as spatial medium, while asserting its own distinctive vision of immersive chromatic experience. The ephemeral nature of the work, its temporary transformation of existing architecture, speaks to contemporary interests in experiential, participatory art forms that privilege direct sensory encounter over static contemplation. Visitors might consider how the enveloping red atmosphere affects their perception of space, time, and bodily presence within this carefully constructed sensory environment.
