Designer of the Day Interview with E-graphics communications

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?
A career of 35 years in the advertising world. Started as a copywriter, working for Mazda, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, and then worked as a creative director for BMW. Working as the executive creative director in E-Graphics Communications.
How did you become a designer?
Had a 2 years training course as a copywriter and then started to work in a production company.
What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?
Will this work move the people who look at it? Is it disruptive towards the existing standard? These 2 questions are the base for any of my creative processs.
Which emotions do you feel when designing?
The emergence of an idea is the most exciting part of the process. From there, try to polish the idea by confronting it to various opinions and finally, finalize it when you feel it convey the right message. The entire process is a source of happiness in itself.
What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?
As a creator, the most important thing is to be aware of the latest trends. It means to be able to identify and understand what is popular at a certain time. In order to move people through various works, one must really comprehend what is the general mindset.
What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?
The mission of a creator is to identify what will be the future trends, and using the skills and experience acquired through various projects, transmit it to the next generation.
What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?
Live in the now, never give up, keep on trying, take care of one’s health, as good ideas only come when the spirit and the body are at peace.
You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?
Ideas are a combination of both general and business related informations. Therefore, try to get informations from a variety of different medias is essential.
What is your day to day look like?
Using the web to get access to different kinds of informations or find new inspiration is a part of a creator’s routine.
How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design?
For someone who lives in the now, first impression is everything. What you feel when you first lay your eyes on a visual or artwork is how you decide if it works or not. You can always think of reasons that confirms your first impression afterwards.
How do you decide if your design is ready?
More than a particular timing, being professional means to be able to come up with something that works within a limited schedule or budget.
Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture?
Living a healthy life, and exercise during the weekend are essential to my lifestyle.
Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy?
I feel blessed working at E-Graphics Communications for I am surrounded by highly professional individuals with a high work ethic.
What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award?
Being involved in this competition brings us different things: stay in touch with some of the highest level creators, and it gives an additional motivation for the young creators. That is why we take A’ Design Award seriously.
